What you see during your dive depends on whether you are a beginner or a certified diver.
BEGINNERS
Depth up to 8 metres. You will see:

A huge variety of marine life: sea bass, barracuda, tuna, octopus, moray eels, rays, squid and crabs – with luck, even sea turtles, Mediterranean monk seals and dolphins.

Fragments of ancient amphorae and other pottery.
EXPERIENCED DIVERS
Depth according to your certification level. You will see:
OPEN WATER level (dives up to 18m) –
- Big Reef and Small Reef – underwater mountains with slopes from 7 to 34 metres, located in a tectonic fault zone between Karaada Island and Gümbet Bay. Constantly changing currents bring enormous amounts of plankton to these “feeding” waters, attracting countless marine creatures and corals.
ADVANCED OPEN WATER level (dives up to 30m) –

The local “Titanic” – the wreck of the tanker TCG Pınar‑1
- The main dive sites around Bodrum are near Karaada Island: Big and Small Reefs, Kaçakçı and Poyraz bays, Fener, and Tilki Burnu cave.
- Wreck of the tanker Pınar‑1 – off Karaada Island at depths of 20–30 metres. Length 45 m, width 7 m. You can enter the captain’s cabin and engine room.
- Wreck of the coast guard vessel SG 115 – also near Karaada Island, depth 18–28 metres.
- Wreck of the C‑47 Dakota aircraft – in Paçöz Bay, depth 16–24 metres. The bay is also known for its many corals and sponges, plus a cave at 32 metres.
- Water visibility off the coast of Bodrum reaches up to 50 metres.
- Average Aegean water temperature near Bodrum from May to October: 22°C to 26°C.
- Beginners (no certificate): one dive to a maximum depth of 8 metres.
- Divers with PADI Open Water (or equivalent): two dives to a maximum depth of 18 metres.
- Divers with PADI Advanced Open Water (or equivalent): two dives to a maximum depth of 30 metres.
- Each dive lasts 30–40 minutes.
